Capti Voice

Capti Voice is a Universally Accessible Personalized Literacy Support Platform enabling teachers to support, monitor, and assess students with diverse needs and abilities, while, at the same time, empowering students to keep up with the curriculum. Capti is universal in that it works across devices and platforms, content sources and formats, student needs and ages, and teacher goals and subjects. The main innovations of Capti are in practical applications of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing to provide personalized supports to students with different needs.

Capti enables users to create Playlists with content from sources such as the Web, Camera, Bookshare, Dropbox, etc. Students can read and listen to their playlists, employ active reading strategies, play vocabulary games, etc. across their favorite devices. Just with these functionalities, Capti replaces at least 5 different tools used by teachers and saves them a lot of time. This is why teachers call Capti a “teacher’s dream”. EdTech Digest has recently named Capti the Best Special Needs Solution of 2017.

Capti empowers children, adults, and seniors to process information more effectively, overcome print disabilities, surmount language barriers, and keep up with their reading. Our long-term vision is to develop an Intelligent Reading Assistant that will remove barriers between people and information. The assistant will facilitate information-access via a natural-language interface and accommodate a variety of user needs. It will automatically identify the complexity of texts, evaluate students’ literacy skills, simplify texts to student reading level, etc.
