President & CEO, Range Networks

Ed currently serves as the CEO of Range Networks, a San Francisco-based leading developer of open source mobile infrastructure. Previously, Ed was a Chief Technology and Innovation Officer with Deutsche Telekom. Before that, Ed spent 12 years at Cisco Systems, where he served as the CTO, Senior Vice President of Business Development and as a board member. In addition, he has served on a number of public and private boards, including Cisco Systems, Yahoo!, Reuters, Red Hat Software and TIBCO.

Ed studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at UC Davis, and worked at SRI International during the 1980’s, developing distributed database and other applications on early packet radio and internet infrastructure.
