Matthew Fix

Matthew is the founding partner of Torque Capital, an early stage technology venture firm focused on the next big tech wave; smart connected devices and systems that can sense, think, and act autonomously. He helped relaunch and spent almost seven years as a Partner at Vodafone Ventures, a $200M fund focused on the mobile and digital media space. Matthew invested in and was an active board member of Amobee (acquired by Singtel), Evolution Robotics (acquired by iRobot), LocalResponse, and PlaySpan (acquired by Visa) and also invested in SNAP-in (acquired by Nuance), Qype (acquired by Yelp), Mobileiron (IPO), and over twenty additional companies. Prior to joining Vodafone Ventures at the end of 2006 he was at Intel Capital, with a focus on software, open source, and Internet/digital media. Investments include Financial Engines (IPO), Datallegro (acquired by Microsoft), Spike Source, and BayPackets (acquired by Genband). Prior to Intel Capital, Matthew worked at a boutique merchant bank and for the investment bank Robertson Stephens. He also founded a small communications company while an undergraduate at UC Berkeley, traded equity options on the floor of the pacific exchange, and was in the U.S. Navy Reserve. Matthew has an MBA from the University of Oxford.
