US Head of Investing, Telefonica Ventures

Mr. Jack Leeney serves as US Head of Investing & Portfolio Manager at Telefonica Ventures where he is a Board Observer for Eventful and Quantenna Communications and a Board Advisor for CinePapaya and Bragbet. Jack has lead Telefonica¹s investments in Box, ExpectLabs, Everything.me and the acquisition of Tokbox.

As an investor as well as a banker Mr. Leeney has raised over $12bn in equity capital for technology companies. Mr. Leeney served as an Investment Banking Associate at Morgan Stanley within the technology investment banking group in Menlo Park, as well as held investment banking and management strategy roles in New York. While an Investment Banker, Mr. Leeney did primarily IPO and public equity issuance work with notable client work for Ancestry.com, LinkedIn, Pandora and Tesla Motors. Mr. Leeney also served as a Senior Associate at Hercules Growth Capital, with Investment Coverage for Box, Glam Media, IntelePeer, Hi5 Networks and Reply.com.

Jack is a member of the Honorary Committee for the Exploratorium of San Francisco and is an active participant in the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and Swim Across America organization for cancer research. Mr. Leeney graduated from Syracuse University with a Dual Degree in Finance and Entrepreneurship, cum laude.
