Saar Gur

Saar Gur is named one of the top 8 up and coming Venture Capitalists by Forbes and a top 10 VC under the age of thirty-six by Venture Capital Journal, Saar loves consumer products and services and is passionate about helping his companies succeed. Saar has been involved in 13 acquisitions in the past few years by firms such as Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Disney, Warner Bros. and Intuit.   He was most recently the lead investor and board member of Orchestra (Mailbox app) and successfully sold it to Dropbox.

Prior to CRV, was a co-founder of BrightRoll, a leading video ad network.  He also angel invested in AdMob, acquired by Google for $750 million in 2010, Flixster, acquired for an undisclosed amount by Time Warner last May, and RockYou, which raised capital in 2009 at a valuation approaching $400 million according to VentureSource.  At CRV, Gur has continued the trend of helping build great companies by backing entrepreneurs at Progress Financial, Altius Education, Viki, ToyTalk and Tophatter from the earliest stages, while also getting involved in the firm’s investments in Twitter and Scribd.

He has a Stanford MBA, a biochem degree from University of Wisconsin and loves to kitesurf.
