Sami Inkinen

Sami Inkinen is a co-founder and board member of the leading online real estate company Trulia (sold for $3.6B to Zillow) and a triathlon world champion in his age group.

Sami is most passionate about advancing human health and performance on a global scale. Currently, he is the CEO & Founder of San Francisco based Virta Health. Virta delivers clinically proven therapies to restore metabolic health in chronic disease patients by combining the most advanced biochemistry, clinical expertise, data science and digital tools. Virta’s mission is to cure chronic diseases that are currently considered irreversible.

Sami is also a Venture Partnerat Obvious Ventures focusing on health related investments that combine profit and purpose.

Sami worked at Microsoft, Nokia and McKinsey & Company. He grew up as a data and computer geek and coded his first programs on a Commodore 64.

He also walks the walk and is a triathlon world champion in his age group, and recently rowed across the Pacific Ocean from California to Hawaii unsupported with his wife at a record speed to raise awareness about healthy nutrition. He is still happily married.

Sami is an active member of the San Francisco Bay Chapter of the Young President’s Organization, has a Master of Science in Engineering Physics from the Helsinki University of Technology and MBA from Stanford University. He grew up on a farm in Finland and believes that his greatest luxury today is a small vegetable garden.
